Joni Warren is a graduate of Western Michigan University where she earned her Master of Social Work degree. Her undergraduate studies were completed at Central Michigan University where she majored in Social Work and Psychology. She is licensed by the State of Michigan to practice as a Social Worker with Clinical and Macro endorsement. She is certified to practice as a School Social Worker. Early employment experience includes several years in an outpatient mental health setting. This was followed by an extensive career as a School Social in various districts throughout Michigan, spending over 20 years employed by Rockford Public Schools
Taking a flexible, non-judgmental, and personal interest in building rapport and addressing self-identified challenges has been the foundation of many satisfying outcomes with clients of diverse backgrounds, ages and circumstances. A large portion of Joni’s career has been spent working with at-risk and vulnerable populations during their middle and high school years. She is skilled at providing individual and group therapy, mental health consultation, advocacy, and crisis intervention as it pertains to depression, mood, affective disorders, grief/loss, peer relationships and the effects of trauma.
Joni was raised in Muskegon and is a graduate of Muskegon High School. She is married and has a daughter who lives in Los Angeles. She very much enjoys living back in this area.
